A theatrical chanson evening about Romy Schneider with Jakob Gühring Admission: 18:00
In "Romy, la mer et la musique", Jakob Gühring takes a musical and theatrical approach to the myth of Romy Schneider, the South and the Mediterranean. Voices of Romy Schneider, her acting partners, her film roles and companions meet 20th century chanson and create a filigree spatial composition.
The many facets of Romy Schneider between glamour and tragedy, between longing and idealization, between artistic excellence and deep suffering are taken up in the evening. The chansons tie in precisely with these contradictions of Romy Schneider's character and unite the great themes of humanity in musical expression.
Jakob Gühring interprets chansons by Yves Montand, Nino Ferrer, Paolo Conte and many others on piano, guitar and accordion in a multilingual and musically virtuoso manner, as he did with his first acting-musical project "L'homme et la musique" in front of enthusiastic audiences in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Based on motifs from "Soudain Romy Schneider" by Guillaume Poix (Verlag Théatrales, 2018)
Jakob Gühring, born near Stuttgart in 1998, studied acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts from 2019-2024.
