The south tower of St. Nicholas Church in Stralsund is undergoing renovation. Architect B. Eriksson will speak in the Gustav-Adolph Hall about the insights gained during the work.
The weather has taken such a heavy toll on the facade and masonry of the south tower that, due to falling pieces of plaster and mortar, the path from City Hall to the church, the square in front of the west portal, and direct access to the Old Market had to be closed to pedestrians some time ago. After a long wait, renovation of the south tower finally began in August 2025.
Burkhardt Eriksson will report on the current status of the renovation and the findings made during the work.
