Sketches and drawings by Prof. Hans Meyer
For several years now, lecturers and graduates of the former Fachschule für angewandte Kunst Heiligendamm (FAK) have been given the opportunity to present their artistic work in the Ehm Welk House. This year, Prof. Hans Meyer is exhibiting a selection of his sketches and drawings.
After studying at the Technical University in Dresden, Hans Meyer was a lecturer at the Fachschule für angewandte Kunst Heiligendamm (FAK), specializing in interior design, from the early 1960s. His teaching areas were descriptive geometry and perspective, furniture and interior design as well as design and development.
From 1989, he was involved in the preparation of the university degree courses in interior architecture and design. In 1991, he was appointed founding dean of the departments of interior architecture and design and professor of interior design.
In addition to his professional activities at the FAK, he also devoted his free time to drawing and sketching. "Architecture and landscape always offered welcome opportunities to draw. Over the years, my sketchbooks became the repository of my sketches and drawings, which were mainly created while traveling and here in the north."
Hans Meyer is now exhibiting a small selection of his sketches and drawings in the Ehm Welk House.
