Readings will commemorate the artists whose books were burned on May 10, 1933.
The National Socialists' "Action against the Un-German Spirit" began on May 10, 1933, when thousands of books, mainly by Jewish authors, but also by other politically undesirable writers of philosophy, poetry and science, were banned and publicly burned. The Friends of the Regional Library commemorate these creative artists with readings on the market square. The event will be supported by pupils from the Ev. Schule St. Marien Neubrandenburg (EVA).
