Following her bestseller "The Postcard", Anne Berest devotes herself to the Breton family on her father's side and combines the personal with the "big" story.
Thu, 4.6., 7.30 pm | University Bookstore Hugendubel, Kröpeliner Str. 41,Rostock
Reading & discussion "Father's Days" with Anne Berest
After two books about her mother's family, Anne Berest dedicates this new chapter of her novel to the paternal, Breton branch of her family. Her great-great-grandfather already lived in Finistere. As in "The Postcard", private and "big" history intermingle, from the founding of the first farmers' cooperatives to May 1968, from the German occupation of a village in Léon to the destruction of the city of Brest.
The Heinrich Böll Foundation MV has invited the French bestselling author Anne Berest to this reading. The Hanseatic and university city is one of four German cities in which she will be presenting her book. The event is organized by the Heinrich Böll Foundation MV, the Literaturhaus Rostock, the Institut franco-allemand de Rostock, the Jewish Community Rostock and the university bookshop Hugendubel.
