01 Semiotics = The Study of Signs
It’s not exactly easy, dear painter, to bring all these signs together in your painting. The tape and the lizard always seem to break free somehow! Whereas the mask—which to me symbolizes concealment and mystery—fits well with the depictions of women. I could use a dictionary of semiotics… don’t the tape and lizard also appear elsewhere in your paintings?
A deeper meaning can’t be ruled out!
