A fast-paced debut novel that keeps you captivated until the very last page

When sociologist Hedwig meets Avi, who is significantly younger than she is, she’s thrown off by his charming carefree attitude. Adventures simply aren’t part of her highly structured daily life as a professor and mother. But what good is that when someone is so persistent… Avi, a successful DJ and producer on the Berlin music scene, persuades her to spend an evening with him at his favorite club, where she doesn’t last long: too loud, too crowded, all those high people. And yet, all of a sudden, everything seems possible, and so the two find themselves together in a car the next day, driving north toward the sea.
“I’ll Tell You Tomorrow” is a story as gripping as it is tender—about letting go, about love, and about identities straddling East and West. With intelligence and nuance, Mareike Klee weaves fast-paced dialogue, raw snippets of speech, and incisive observations into a snapshot of our society. A novel like a good movie—fast-paced and emotional, with lightness, wit, and depth!

Mareike Klee, born in 1980, wanted to be a writer as a child but went on to study history, French, and classical archaeology. As an ancient historian, she now devotes her professional life to researching Greco-Roman antiquity and strives to inspire students with a passion for the subject. Mareike Klee has three sons and lives with her family in Vorpommern. “erzähl ich morgen” is her first novel. To distinguish it from her scholarly work, it is published under a pseudonym.
