Friday, June 19, 2026, 6:00 p.m., Waren (Müritz) City Library.
The Waren (Müritz) City Library invites the interested audience to a reading about Jürgen Neitz from Waren on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 6:00 pm on the occasion of the "Open Society Day".
Having grown up in a children's home, Jürgen Neitz was an inland fisherman, police officer, two-wheeler mechanic and self-employed entrepreneur. And then he lived on the street for 12 years until, as luck would have it, he found his way back into a normal life.
Laura Beck, author and filmmaker at Bayerischer Rundfunk, met Jürgen Neitz while filming the movie "Der Sandler". The brief encounter turned into a friendship. She accompanied Jürgen on his way back to his home town of Waren (Müritz) after 12 years as a homeless person on the streets of Munich. His notes and numerous conversations eventually led to the book "Ein steiniger Weg" (A rocky road) in 2024.
All interested parties are welcome to attend this free event.
Admission is free.
We look forward to seeing you!
