Igold and Iglinde Igelsen lead a tranquil life on their blueberry hill, which is only occasionally disturbed by the rabbit running around. When the hare once again chases away the birds that Igold loves and watches, the hedgehog gets carried away in a quarrel and makes a bet, which of course he cannot win. However, Igold's cunning and inventiveness manage to defeat the hare, who then embarks on a particularly dangerous adventure. It all culminates in the question: Why so clever?
