Ludwigslust is considered a baroque jewel of residential architecture. Several Mecklenburg dukes held court here. The guided tour provides an insight into life at the Mecklenburg royal court between ceremonial, duty and privacy. At the same time, questions are answered about the founding of Ludwigslust and life between princely self-presentation and a passion for collecting. Experience art of the highest order on approx. 1,500 square meters: historical furniture and paintings, papier-mâché decorations, clocks, Meissen porcelain, silver and Kunstkammer objects, busts by Jean-Antoine
Houdon, architectural models made of cork, ivory works, miniatures and a reconstructed picture gallery with works by the court painters Matthieu, Findorff, Suhrlandt and Lisiewsky.
