Gessin – In the run-up to the state election in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the CDU’s direct candidate, Marc Reinhard, is seeking direct dialogue with local residents. He accepted an invitation to an open town hall meeting at the Mittelhof in Gessin to discuss current challenges facing rural areas.

Focus on the Community Forum

The meeting in Gessin will focus on key issues facing rural areas: from regional development and strengthening village communities to supporting local cultural projects. Citizens are invited to share their questions, requests, and concerns directly. A central focus of the discussion will be how to ensure quality of life and sustainability in rural areas outside of metropolitan centers in the long term.

Marc Reinhard on himself:

Personal Biography

I was born on February 4, 1978, in Teterow. I grew up in Kämmerich near Neukalen and in Gnoien. From 1984 to 1996, I attended school in Gnoien and Teterow. I was confirmed in 1992. I completed my basic military service from 1996 to 1997 with the Air Force in Laage. Afterward, I began an apprenticeship as a surveying technician in Rostock.

After successfully completing my training and working for another year as a surveying technician, I decided to pursue a degree in business law at Wismar University of Applied Sciences. The topic of my thesis was the district reorganization. I completed my studies in October 2006 with a degree in Business Law (FH). I have been a member of the State Parliament of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern since September 17, 2006, and have served as chairman of the CDU district association for the Mecklenburg Lake District since December 2011. In addition, I have been an active volunteer member of the Neukalen Volunteer Fire Department since 2013.

Political Background

I took my first steps in politics in 1996, becoming involved in church politics. As a youth representative, I was elected to the Malchin Church District Council, where I had the opportunity to work on the executive committee alongside the then-superintendent, Rüdiger Timm. I joined the CDU in 1998 after the first red-red coalition was formed in Schwerin.

Today, I am a member of the Mecklenburg Lake District District Council, the Neukalen City Council, and the CDU district and state executive committees. From 2001 to 2008, I served as state executive director of the Junge Union in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. On October 4, 2008, I was elected state chairman of the Junge Union in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. During my studies, I served on the senate of Wismar University of Applied Sciences, the board of the Rostock Student Services Association, as well as the AStA and the student parliament.

Since September 17, 2006, I have been a permanent member of the State Parliament of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
