Ludwigslust Palace boasts a collection that is impressive for its abundance but can be described as outstanding for its breadth. Around 1800, thousands of high-quality works of art and everyday objects arrived in Ludwigslust as part of the dowry of a tsar’s daughter.
At the same time, most of the ornaments in the “Golden Hall”—the architectural highlight of the palace—are made of papier-mâché, produced at the “Ducal Carton Factory.” Discover the fascinating interplay of appearance and reality on a guided tour through the former apartments.
