Sparkle in the Dark – A Flashlight Tour of the Ducal Apartments
In addition to its magnificent permanent furnishings, Ludwigslust Palace also houses the opulent dowry of Helena Pavlovna, daughter of the Russian tsar, who married Hereditary Duke Friedrich Ludwig in 1799. Hundreds of crates must have been needed to transport the enormous dowry by ship from St. Petersburg via the port of Rostock to Ludwigslust: chandeliers and mirrors, marble fireplaces and furniture, and much more. The flashlight tour highlights the finest pieces of the interior.
