New Voices: Young Authors from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Six writers under the age of 30 will gather in Prillwitz for a week and read their work on September 10 in Neustrelitz.
For this intensive workshop from September 6 to 11, six authors—all under the age of 30—will gather in the small town of Prillwitz near Neustrelitz to discuss their texts, write, and —guided by the workshop leaders—to develop their own voices as writers. To conclude the workshop, they will organize a public reading in Neustrelitz on September 10, 2025.
It’s not just the collaborative work on texts that makes the “Writing Summer” appealing, but also a scholarship that the authors receive. Applications for the workshop were open earlier this year. A jury selected six participants from among the applicants:
Luca Klein
Betty Koschka
Lisa Marie Leiding
Carla Radtke
Jannis Weu
Ludwig Winter
The young authors submitted works of prose and poetry. They will bring their texts to the workshop to continue working on them together with the others.
The Writing Summer is led by author Isabelle Lehn and author and publisher Bertram Reinecke. In addition to intensive work on the texts, the program also includes a behind-the-scenes look at the German-language literary scene.
The MV Writing Summer takes place annually and is organized by the LiteraturRat MV and the Fachstelle Literatur. The “Schreibsommer” program and the scholarships for participants are funded by the LiteraturRat MV with support from the Young Talent Promotion program of the Ministry of Science, Culture, Federal, and European Affairs of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
