An evening full of musical colors, emotions and contrasts: The Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio invites you on a journey through the fascinating world of Polish sound - between melancholic poetry, romantic passion and rhythmic ecstasy.

The program opens with Karol Szymanowski's Étude in B minor, a piece of floating melancholy and inner warmth. In the orchestral version by Anna Duczmal-Mróz, the originally pianistic work unfolds new dimensions: fine color gradients, breathing lines, delicate orchestral transparency. A quiet, almost impressionistic beginning that opens up the emotional space of the evening.

This is followed by Henryk Wieniawski's Violin Concerto No. 2 in D minor op. 22, one of the most important Romantic concertos for violin. It combines virtuosity and emotion, technical brilliance and lyrical intimacy. The soloist Veriko Tchumburidze, winner of the International Wieniawski Competition, combines radiant clarity with deep expression. Her interpretation makes the violin sing, shimmer and blaze - entirely in the spirit of the composer, who himself was one of the greatest violinists of his time.

After the interval, Mieczysław Karłowicz's Serenade for String Orchestra op. 2 is played - a work of youthful freshness and late Romantic brilliance. A kaleidoscope of emotions unfolds between the march, romance, waltz and finale: Cheerfulness, longing, nostalgia and hope. Karłowicz, a student of Romanticism and an early admirer of Richard Strauss, created a piece with the Serenade that seduces with its melodic elegance and subtle orchestral artistry.

The powerful finale is Wojciech Kilar's "Orawa", an ecstatic sound poem for string orchestra. Inspired by the landscape of the Polish-Slovakian High Tatras, Kilar transforms folkloristic rhythms into intoxicating energy. Repetitive figures create a pulsating maelstrom that builds to an intoxicating climax - until the work ends with a collective outcry from the musicians. "Orawa" is pure vitality in sound form - modern, archaic, overwhelming.

The Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio, founded in 1968 by the legendary conductor Agnieszka Duczmal, is today regarded as one of the leading chamber orchestras in Europe. Under the direction of Anna Duczmal-Mróz, winner of the Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship, the ensemble develops a unique sound language: precise, full of energy, emotion and depth.

With "Polish Soundscapes", the orchestra presents a program that combines past and present, emotion and form, tradition and modernity. Four composers - four voices - a country whose music appeals to the heart as well as the mind.

A concert that lingers on - intense, colorful, lively
