Poetry Reading with Musical Accompaniment: Anke Geiger Reads from “The Viking and the Boyar,” Volume 2
On August 6, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., Wollin-based author Anke Geiger will read from the second volume of her historical novel “The Viking and the Boyar.” The story weaves together love, betrayal, and death in the early Middle Ages in a gripping narrative.
The reading will take place in the newly renovated ballroom of the Kaiserhof Penkun. Built in 1865, the building was saved from demolition by architects Bodo Weih and Axel Wortmann and restored without significant public funding.
The evening will be accompanied by music from the German Romantic period: Baritone Bodo Weih (trained in German and French Romantic music) and pianist David Serebryanik (concert diploma in lieder interpretation, international performance experience) will perform settings by Hugo Wolf and Robert Schumann based on texts by Mörike, Eichendorff, and Heine—which are remarkably well-suited to the passages being read.
After the reading, Anke Geiger will be available for autographs and questions. The Kaiserhof will provide refreshments and drinks.
Admission is free; donations are appreciated. There are 100 seats available.
