Christmas Market and Open-Air Fairy Tale Plays
From November 28 to December 20, 2026, this unique event will take place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. during the Advent season. The venue is the grounds of the Piraten-Open-Air-Theater in Grevesmühlen at Piratenplatz 1. Every Christmas season, the wild lads of the seas also show their heart and soul and, just like Santa Claus, hand out their treasures to well-behaved children. With many highlights on the grounds, Christmas specialties are presented as seafaring souvenirs from around the world. – Hundreds of Christmas trees will be aglow with festive lights – Every day at 5:00 p.m., the Klabautermann and Märchen-Peter will tell stories by the Brothers Grimm—tales from times long past, presented as theatrical fairy tales featuring up to 10 actors. You can also look forward to our photo spot with Santa Claus and his reindeer sleigh, fun for young and old, Christmas specialties with the scents of the holiday season, Christmas caroling for everyone, festive music with Squeezebox-Teddy, and the Christmas tree sale featuring the most beautiful trees in Northwest Mecklenburg—all of which set the stage for an exciting holiday season. And on the last Sunday of Advent, the Klabautermann opens his sea chest and presents a story from distant worlds and times long past to all those who enjoy a lighthearted play.
