based on the novel by Wolfgang Herrndorf
"I'm not crazy. The world is crazy, and I'm the proof." Having escaped from a psychiatric institution, the young Isa sets off on a journey through the German provinces. Alone, without a plan, without money and on foot. On her journey, she meets a wide variety of people and reflects on freedom, belonging and the general madness of the world. Her courage, her rebellious and melancholy nature take us on an existential road trip that also shows us how dazzling the world can be on its outermost fringes.
Wolfgang Herrndorf, who ended his life in 2013 in the face of a malignant brain tumor, worked on "Bilder deiner großen Liebe" until the very end - a novel that was initially to remain an unpublished fragment. The mysterious character of Isa, whom he had already introduced in "Tschick", takes center stage here. A story about loneliness, freedom and the desire to finally arrive somewhere.
