Ulrike Pennewitz, head of the Neubrandenburg Art Collection, talks to Peter and Torsten Ruehle about places in pictures and the importance of contour and line in the twin brothers' work.
In the pictures of the two artists Peter and Torsten Ruehle, who live and work in Berlin, places are not just a stage, they become the content themselves. Space and landscape embody a kind of spatial autonomy. New territories emerge, beyond the naturalistic image - fictitious and yet specific, new and yet full of references to one's own existence.
The current special exhibition "Peter Ruehle + Torsten Ruehle : Ortswechsel" can be seen at the Kunstsammlung Neubrandenburg until January 25.
Admission: 5.00 euros / reduced 2.50 euros
