Who was Ulrich Müther? What remains of his work and his vision? As part of Müther Week, a special performance invites you to encounter the Binzer master shell builder through art. The performance will feature selected scenes from the theater production “Mensch, Müther! A Concrete Collage,” which will be presented in its entirety on Wednesday evening (September 30, 2026).
Ulrich Müther’s spectacular hyperbolic shells continue to shape the landscape of the Baltic Sea coast to this day and represent an architecture that was far ahead of its time. The performance embarks on a search—as poetic as it is vibrant—for the man behind the structures. Anecdotes, historical facts, and dramatic imagery weave together to form a portrait of an engineer who pushed boundaries with his ideas and whose work continues to inspire to this day. Just as with the construction of a hyperbolic shell, this tribute grows layer by layer. Memories, stories, and images come together to form an impressive collage that brings the life and work of the Binz-based visionary to life in a unique way.
