Norwegian Duo Celebrates Premiere
The Norwegian duo Paper Crown plays intense and moving indie pop-rock. In February, Johanne Kippersund (vocals, guitar) and Ørnulv Snortheim (guitar, vocals) successfully toured southern and western Germany. On their new tour, the Kornhaus marks their first stop in northeastern Germany.
Johanne Kippersund is one of Norway’s most exciting rock singers and songwriters. With her art-rock band MEER, she impresses fans year after year at select rock and prog-rock festivals. Alongside her longtime musical partner Ørnulv Snortheim, she fully embraces her softer, nostalgic side with Paper Crown.
The duo is bringing their new, third album, “Letters”—an ambitious and playful record on which Johanne and Ørnulv present themselves with confidence and a knack for captivating melodies. Musically, “Letters” draws inspiration, on the one hand, from the organic warmth of 1970s recordings—with generous arrangements and a lively, breathing instrumentation. On the other hand, it draws on 1990s pop-rock, with strong melodies, distinctive guitar lines, and a spirit of discovery.
Admission is €15; €10 for high school students, college students, and people with severe disabilities.
