Painting Class: Botanical Motifs with Kim Kluge
Botanical Motifs Using Watercolor Techniques
For Beginners and Advanced Students
The workshop “Botanical Motifs Using Watercolor Techniques” is designed for both beginners and advanced students and invites participants to get creative together in a relaxed atmosphere. We’ll begin by studying plants through line drawing. Here, you’ll learn to capture botanical motifs initially as contour drawings.
Visual artist and course instructor Kim Kluge will introduce a special contour drawing technique. This method is particularly helpful for beginners in depicting plants and botanical motifs as contour drawings, making it easier to get started with creative work. In the main part of the workshop, we’ll explore the basics of watercolor painting. You’ll learn fundamental techniques such as creating color gradients and mixing colors directly on the paper. The focus is on experimenting with watercolors, allowing you to try out different ways of rendering color and discover your own unique style of expression. Advanced participants will receive individualized support and—depending on their skill level—be introduced to new watercolor techniques to help them further develop their abilities in a targeted manner.
