The ranger takes you into the wintry Vierwald forest along the Elbe slope between Boizenburg and Köpelberg. The circular hike on the trail of the Green Belt leads past historically interesting areas of the former colonnade path and crosses ice-age notch valleys.

The destination of the two-hour circular hike along the Green Belt is the approx. 60 m high Köpelberg in Vierwald. The ranger takes you there via the narrow and wooded Kerbtalweg trail, which crosses several quite steep, glacial Kerbtäler valleys. For this reason, the tour along the Elbe slope is not suitable for people with walking difficulties or baby carriages and good footwear is recommended. In addition to interesting glimpses of the former inner-German border situation, there will be insights and views of the area protected as a core and maintenance zone in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve River Landscape Elbe M-V with its special animal and plant species. On the way back, you will follow the former Kolonnenweg, which is also part of the 1,400 km long "Green Belt" that runs throughout Germany.

The hike is free of charge - donations for the educational work of the biosphere reserve are welcome.
