The music of the Thuringian band Ostart is diverse and characterized by the dust of the streets on which the songs are written and the stories told through the songwriting.The band's lyrical Americana, blues and country roots music often inspires introspection, be it about life by the sea, sunsets, heartbreak or hope. The band was founded in 1995 in Jena-Ost and expanded in 2018 with a wide range of acoustic instruments including lap steel guitar, banjo, acoustic guitars, blues harp and cello. The cello in particular carries the German-sung, often romantic lyrics from the stage directly into the hearts of the audience.
