Literary activists Dominik Bartels and Jörg Schwedler read satirical stories about life in the former workers' and farmers' state. With a good dose of self-irony, they transform every venue into the VEB Literaturbetrieb, the Kombinat für Wortkunst or the LPG Satire.
The show is a mixture of reading and comedy. The two authors have been touring the country for over five years. Here and there. Word has spread about the readings. They are extremely entertaining and usually sold out. However, what the two experienced reading stage authors present is not an Ostalgie show, but rather a tongue-in-cheek look back at their childhood as pioneers, growing older in the Wild West and the absurdities of everyday life between prefabricated housing and pioneer afternoons. They are served Pfeffi in proper style and philosophize about the GDR.
