Organ music from Germany and France on the historic Sagard Baroque organ. Alex Bergstedt, organ
According to experts and organists, the most valuable organ on Rügen is the historic Baroque organ in Sagard, which is why renowned organists enjoy performing on it. Since last year, it has been shining in new splendor, as, thanks to an initiative by Sagard residents, spotlights have been installed that subtly illuminate the organ during concerts, beautifully highlighting its pipes and the ornate Baroque carvings. On Sunday, September 20, the organ will ring out once again when, at 5 p.m., Rügen-based organist and choir director Alex Bergstedt presents a festive organ concert in honor of the upcoming Harvest Festival.
In the concert, Bergstedt will present a contrast of festive works from Germany and France by renowned composers such as Bach, Buxtehude, Daquin, Widor, and Handel. Admission is free.
