At the beginning there are compositions by the musicians Johann Gottfried Walther (1684-1748) and Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), who were friends of each other. Then the path leads from Germany via Austria to France. Here, more precisely in Paris, the organists and composers Louis Lefèbure-Wely (1817-1869) and Gaston Bélier (1863-1938) were active. The latter left only one composition, the "Toccata pour Grand Orgue". The journey continues to the far north. Music by the Bergen-born composer and pianist Edvard Grieg (1843-1907) will be heard. He studied at the Leipzig Konsevatorium, then spent some time in Copenhagen until he returned to his homeland in 1866. We also return musically to Germany. Fritz Abs will perform works by the Kapellmeister and music publisher Siegfried Translateur (1875-1944) and the church musician and composer Matthias Nagel (*1958).
Complete program:
Works by J. G. Walther, J. S. Bach, W. A. Mozart, L. Lefèbure-Wèly, G. Bèlier, E. Grieg, S. Trans-lateur, M. Zweigelt, M. Nagel.
