Organ concert with Gerhard Noetzel (Halle) Works by Rinck, Hesse, Lemmens, Janca and others will be performed.
The cantor of Halle Cathedral and conductor of the Halle Youth Symphony Orchestra, Gerhard Noetzel, is presenting an interesting program in Stralsund:
Christian Heinrich Rinck (1770 - 1846) is rooted in Romanticism. He was considered one of the most outstanding organists of his time. He achieved particular renown as a composer of organ music. He remained famous for his creative work long after his death. The revival and performance of his works is still a pleasure today.
Adolph Friedrich Hesse (1809 - 1863) from Breslau was known as the "Silesian Bach" because he was so committed to the performance and appreciation of Bach's works.
Jacques-Nicolas Lemmens (1823 - 1881), Belgian organist and composer, studied in Brussels and was sent by his teacher at the time to Hesse in Breslau to study Bach's compositions. He later taught himself at the church music school in Brussels. Concert tours took him throughout Europe and many interested organists came to him to learn from him.
Jan Janca (1933 - 2023), German-Polish organist and composer, studied in Krakow. He moved to Germany with his family in 1957 and completed his studies in Stuttgart. He worked as a teacher in Stuttgart, Rottenburg and Tübingen. Janca devoted himself to the history of organ building, especially in West Prussia. His initiative and planning of the Rieger organ in Tübingen deserves special mention.
Gerhard Noetzel performs music from four centuries and takes the audience on a journey through the history of music.
