At the beginning of Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of lights, the 8th International Days of Jewish Music will open on December 14 at 7:30 pm at the Seetelhotel Villa Esplanade in the seaside resort of Heringsdorf with the concert "Voices from Theresienstadt".Simon Wallfisch (baritone) and Daniel Seroussi (piano) combine music, personal history and the radiance of the voice. Works by Viktor Ullmann, Klabund, Carlo Taube, Pavel Haas, Leo Strauss, Johannes Brahms, Ilse Weber and Maurice Ravel create a space for reflection and remembrance. Wallfisch, grandson of an Auschwitz survivor, draws on family memories in his singing, while Seroussi enhances the emotional depth of the music on the piano.
