Start of the anniversary Naturklänge season (25 years) Two of Germany's leading accordion virtuosos - Cathrin Pfeifer and Tobias Morgenstern - meet for the first time for the Instrument of the Year. Between tango, jazz and world music, an evening full of virtuosity and sound diversity unfolds.
We are kicking off the 2026 "Naturklänge" concert season with a very special highlight, as two exceptional artists are coming together for the first time. The German Music Council has chosen the accordion as the instrument of the year and this should be duly celebrated. The magic of this instrument will therefore be presented in very different ways, from tango & milonga to musette & waltz, jazz and world music. Two of Germany's best-known accordion virtuosos will be joining forces. Cathrin Pfeifer has developed her very own sound and has turned even stubborn skeptics into her fans. She combines a wide variety of styles in her modern playing, complex rhythms with jazzy arrangements, improvisations with surprising live sampling. Tobias Morgenstern is a music legend. He was the founder of "L'Art de Passage", released and produced over 80 CDs, toured with Günter Fischer, Armin Mueller-Stahl and Hans-Eckardt Wenzel, among others, and of course he has also developed his very own style. Each of the two artists will play solo. Silva von Bülow (violin) and Lutz Gerlach on piano will be guests. For the finale of the evening, all artists will play together for the first time.
Note: The ticket includes free admission to the open-air museum on the day of the event and free use of the shuttle buses between Ribnitz-Damgarten and the Klockenhagen open-air museum
