at the Schwerin Castle Museum

With the construction of the new Schwerin Castle in the mid-19th century, Grand Duke Friedrich Franz II created a new, modern seat of power that continues to play a major role in shaping Schwerin’s cityscape to this day. Public tours at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3 p.m. explain how the building expresses the claim to power of the Mecklenburg ruling dynasty.
2 p.m.: Special public tour “The Dankberg Frieze in the Billiard Room.”
Have you always wanted to know how the history
of humanity can be portrayed with humor? Then we cordially invite you to this special guided tour. We’ll show you an extraordinary work of art and give you a fascinating insight into the decorative arts and the humorous, allegorical imagery of Historicism.

Admission and the program are free on this day.
