Nature Conservation and Falconry: Something for Everyone!
At 11:30 a.m., we’ll gather to learn all about the history of falconry, what hunting with birds of prey actually entails, the lives of birds of prey and falcons, and much more! Gerd Borgwardt and Ulrich Reppenhagen from the German Falconers’ Order will take us on a journey with the birds of prey. Also joining us will be Stephanie and Ingo Feldt with their raven Hugin from the Oder Spree Bird of Prey Center (Greifvogelzentrum Oder Spree e.V.).
For 5 talers, you can even take souvenir photos with Hugin and the falcons.
At 2:00 p.m., Lady of Glencairn, accompanied by her captain and her maid Abigaile, will lead a tour through the Buggelände grounds. Afterward, you can decide whether to let yourself be thrown into the dungeon or buy your way out with a generous donation to the Captain for the Denkmal- und Naturschutz e.V. support association. Every taler will be used for the castle’s restoration.
Throughout the day, there will be plenty of opportunities to learn more about the birds of prey: ravens, little owls, peregrine falcons, and falcons.
