Broock Castle invites you to this year's "Open Monument Day." Exhibitions | Guided Tours | Culinary Delights
“NetzWERKE: Monuments & Infrastructure – Historic Buildings That Move and Connect Us” is this year’s theme for “Open Monument Day, ” to which we cordially invite you to Broock on Sunday, September 13, 2026, starting at 11:00 a.m.
The former Broock estate complex—comprising the main Broock estate, several villages, subsidiary estates, and outbuildings—was a vast economic enterprise that employed, brought together, and provided for people for centuries. Furthermore, in the 19th century, Broock developed into the social hub of the entire region and served as a networking center for the West Pomeranian nobility. The future “Broock Castle Culture and Conference Center” builds on these traditions, bringing people from near and far together through numerous events, and striving to foster connections among stakeholders in the fields of tourism, the arts, culture, and the cultural economy in the beautiful Tollense Valley and throughout the wider inland region of Western Pomerania.

11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. | Exhibitions at the “Castle Museum”
In our “Castle Museum,” the exhibitions “Broock Castle—Lords and People,” “Garden Culture in Broock,” and “Broock Finds” offer insights into an outstanding architectural and garden monument as well as into the rich and colorful past of one of the formerly largest estates in Western Pomerania.
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. | Guided tours of the castle construction site (every half hour)
From 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., guided tours of the castle construction site are offered every half hour. You’ll receive information about the current construction work, the emergency stabilization measures taken on the historic site—which was at high risk of collapse until 2017—and the “Broock Castle Culture and Conference Center” project. Since we can only accommodate a limited number of people per group, you’ll receive timed tickets for the construction site tours at the entrance.
2:30 p.m. | Cultural-historical tour of the park
What stories unfolded behind Broock’s historic walls, and which architects and landscape architects transformed the former manor into a monument of national significance? Project manager Christian Schmidt provides answers and takes you on a journey through Broock’s eventful and ever-changing history. During a walk through the castle park, you’ll also learn details about its various design periods and the current preservation of the garden as a historic monument. The meeting point for this tour is in front of the castle’s garden terrace (park side).
Winter Garden Café
The team from our village store will be serving refreshments in the reconstructed winter garden on the south gable of the castle—including lunch, hearty meals, coffee, and cake.
Notes: Parking is available in the service courtyard. Access to the castle is via the garden terrace on the park side and is not accessible.
