How is digital work changing rural areas? At the nationwide Digital Day, Project Bay opens its doors in Lietzow on Rügen and shows how modern work, community and regional development are connected. Visitors will get an insight into the coworking space, watch a live podcast and then network over snacks by the Bodden.
What actually happens behind the scenes of Project Bay right on the Lietzower Bodden? And how can digital networks help to better connect people in rural areas?
To mark the nationwide Digital Day, Project Bay is opening its doors to the public on Friday, June 26, 2026. Visitors can expect an open afternoon with insights into modern working, digital innovations and new forms of regional networking.
The open day starts at 2:30 pm with coffee, cake and guided tours of the coworking space. The team will also be on site to present the new community app that is currently being developed. The aim of the app is to connect locals, founders, creatives, remote workers and workationers in a targeted manner.
At 16:00, there will be an expert discussion on the topic of "New Work" with Gabriel Rath, host of the "New Work Chat" podcast.
Discussions will include how flexible working models, coworking and digital networks can strengthen regions such as Rügen economically and socially.
In addition to the program, there will be opportunities for exchange, small hands-on activities and leisure activities around the Bodden. From 18:00, the day will end with a garden get-together with snacks, drinks and a campfire.
