26th Neubrandenburg Summer Film Festival, July 31, 2026 – August 9, 2026
Mala Emde and Christoph Maria Herbst shine in this film by Simon Ostermann about a father-daughter relationship—and the turning points in their lives.
Germany 2026, Director: Simon Ostermann, Runtime: 90 minutes
Starring: Mala Emde, Christoph Maria Herbst, Aaron Hilmer, and others
The life of Les, a bike courier, still seems to be moving along in a rather makeshift direction. When her father Bert, a hairdresser from the provinces, shows up unannounced at her door one day, it throws her plans into a tailspin—even though her father insists he doesn’t intend to stay long. Both have their secrets. Les is pregnant against her will by her colleague Tyler, who is out of the question as a father. And Bert actually wants to tell his daughter that he is suffering from a likely incurable brain tumor. When Les is injured in an accident, her father Bert takes over her job as a bike courier.
We’ll be welcoming our guests starting at 8:30 p.m. with the (free) Cinema Royale summer drink. Delicious grilled bratwursts will be on the menu.
