Daniel (Florian David Fitz) wanted to go out with a bang, but after a failed suicide attempt, he ends up in a psychiatric ward and is not allowed to leave. He once stood on stage at the Olympic Stadium, surrounded by thousands of lighters, as everyone sang along to his song. Today, nothing remains of that fame. All that’s left is the song that brought him both his rise and his fall. Dr. Lissi Waldstett (Nora Tschirner) researches the topic of happiness, but barely makes any money from it and works part-time as a nurse in the secure ward. To draw attention to her work, she’s looking for an extraordinary idea. When Daniel wakes up in her care, she senses an opportunity: she offers to help him if he supports her in an unusual project. Together, they plan to make a group of lonely people happier through singing. What begins as a partnership of convenience turns into a chaotic adventure in which both believe they are controlling the other—yet find themselves entangled ever more deeply in mutual dependence.
