Gregor Gysi - more open and personal than ever before Moderation: Hans-Dieter Schütt An autobiographical look behind the scenes of politics
Gregor Gysi talks and recites from "Ein Leben ist zu wenig. The Autobiography." and presents his latest books "What Politicians Don't Say..." and "A Currywurst with Gregor Gysi". In "Was Politiker nicht sagen..." - with the apt subtitle "...weil es um Mehrheiten und nicht um Wahrheiten geht!" - he explains how communication works in politics, why MPs are not appointed according to professionalism, what speaking time limits apply in the Bundestag and why he mainly addresses the audience in talk shows and less the fellow panelists.
For years, Hans-Dieter Schütt has accompanied Gregor Gysi at his book events, resulting in numerous conversations, which are collected in "Auf eine Currywurst mit Gregor Gysi". In the short interviews at the snack stand, the lawyer and politician is quick-witted, wise and more open and personal than ever before. In the exclusive interview book, Gysi and Schütt talk about speaking and remaining silent, the future of the Left Party and writing books. Gregor Gysi offers an anecdote-rich look behind the scenes of the political scene and talks about his many lives as a lawyer, politician, author and presenter and - last but not least - as a family man. A life and a family history that leads from Russia to Rhodesia and into everyday court life with murderers and thieves, including praise of Lenin and the Nobel Prize winner Doris Lessing. The evening will be hosted by Hans-Dieter Schütt, who will also discuss current political issues.
