In their program "O Du Fröhliche", the two actors Jürgen Wegscheider and Markus Maria Winkler present a pre-Christmas atmosphere in a humorous way with classic Christmas carols, stories and poems by many well-known authors, including Kurt Tucholsky, Christian Morgenstern, Joseph Freiherr von Eichendorff, Theodor Fontane, Klabund, as well as their own texts. You can look forward to cheerful and contemplative Advent stories, sometimes humorous, sometimes thoughtful and with a twinkle in the eye.
Actors Markus Maria Winkler and Jürgen Wegscheider have been working together for over 20 years. During this time, they have staged many unique productions together, with which they have performed in more than 500 venues to date.
Markus Maria Winkler from Lower Saxony has performed at the Südbayerisches Theaterfestival, the touring theater Das Ensemble Jacob-Schwiers, the Festspielhaus München and has toured Germany, Austria and Switzerland with his own theater productions.
Carinthian Jürgen Wegscheider has performed at theaters in Frankfurt/Main, Munich and Essen and has toured regularly. He tours Germany, Austria and Switzerland with his mainly literary-cabaret programs.

Markus Maria Winkler
The actor and singer Markus Maria Winkler was born in Wilhelmshaven on the North Sea coast in June 1975. He has performed at the Südbayerisches Theaterfestival, the touring theater Das Ensemble Jacob-Schwiers and the Festspielhaus in Munich and has toured Germany, Austria and Switzerland with his own theater productions. As a character actor, his repertoire ranges from musicals and classical vocal concerts to modern and classical theater roles. Markus Maria Winkler celebrates his 28th stage anniversary in 2025.
Jürgen Wegscheider
Born in Carinthia and now living in Munich, actor Jürgen Wegscheider has performed at theaters in Frankfurt am Main, Munich and Essen as well as at the Südbayerisches Theaterfestival and the Thespiskarren touring theater. He has been touring Germany, Austria and Switzerland for 20 years with his mainly literary-cabaret programs.
