Concert evening with the Mårten Lundgren Quartet and the Kristin Korb Trio
There is a different America with different values than those that dominate the political stage these days. A good example of this is jazz - one of the few originally American art forms - which has created models for equal and pointed communication. Those who make jazz first of all listen to others and contribute their best to the whole: reacting sensitively instead of showing off in an authoritarian, egocentric way, finding one's own voice to the common music instead of dull ignorance, respect instead of deals. But jazz songs also embody this attitude. They are wittily cultivated, worldly, amiably carefree. Even when they sing of great happiness or great misfortune, they maintain their composure. The festival would like to present two bands from the Öresund region who illustrate these qualities from a historical and biographical perspective with their swinging mainstream jazz and highly entertaining performances.
