Art is creativity and thinking outside the box. Art is rebelling against what is expected.
Art is nonconformist.
During the 10 months of our preparatory program at Kunst.Schule.Rostock, we explored this for ourselves, made possible in part by engaging with various artistic media: from nature studies and freehand drawing to etching, linoleum and screen printing, as well as sculpture, analog photography, ceramics, and collages.
In a society that increasingly favors stereotypical role models and focuses on profit and mechanical productivity, simply living creatively and being an artist is non-conformist. For us, creativity and art are tools for liberation from norms and the “what should be.”
