A New Jazz Festival for Schwerin
The MV Jazz Collective, founded in 2025 by seven musicians, invites you to its first festival at the Wichernsaal in Schwerin on September 18 and 19, 2026. The 1st NODE Jazzfest will create a new hub for contemporary jazz in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern—open, diverse, and full of creative encounters.
The festival’s program features artists from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as well as nationally and internationally renowned acts from the current jazz scene. The musical spectrum ranges from intimate solo concerts to energetic big-band arrangements and improvised dance performances.
As diverse as the lineups may be, together they demonstrate just how multifaceted and vibrant contemporary jazz sounds today.
The term “Node” originates from digital networking technology and refers to junctions where information converges and is exchanged. The NODE Jazzfest embraces precisely this idea: as a place for encounters, exchange, and networking within Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania’s jazz scene.
In addition to the concert program, a networking event for the state’s cultural professionals is therefore planned.
Musicians and event organizers are invited to engage in conversation, forge new connections, and jointly develop perspectives for the future of the jazz scene in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
