Greifswald Koeppentage 2026
Greifswald Koeppentage 2026 "I have never forgotten my mother's fairytale word ..." Wolfgang Koeppen's stories
Cabinet exhibition of the Wolfgang Koeppen Archive
The Greifswald-born writer Wolfgang Koeppen (1906-1996), known for his post-war novels, also wrote a number of short stories.
Koeppen's stories often contain autobiographical references to his hometown of Greifswald, his childhood in Masuria or his boat trips as a young adult. His stories are often political and resolutely opposed to National Socialism, which Koeppen still believes he recognizes in society after the Second World War.
The exhibition is dedicated to Wolfgang Koeppen's stories and shows interesting background information, which is enriched with private photographs, manuscripts and other archive material from the author's estate.
You are cordially invited to the exhibition opening. Admission is free
Exhibition duration until May 2027, Tue-Fri, 2-6 p.m., free admission
The cabinet exhibition will remain closed while the Koeppenhaus exhibitions are being refurbished.
