Symphony concert of the Musikland MV & festive concert on the Day of German Unity
with Martin Fröst (clarinet) and Andris Poga (conductor)
Hugo Alfvén: Swedish Rhapsody No. 1 "Midsommarvaka"
Wolfgang Amadé Mozart: Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra in A major KV 622
Peter Tchaikovsky: "Manfred Symphony" op. 58
Martin Fröst is one of the most prominent faces of Swedish musical culture in the world today. As a clarinettist, conductor, arranger and programmatic visionary, he takes unusual paths in his dialog with his audience. In Peenemünde, however, he proves how important the great classical tradition has remained to him with Mozart's Clarinet Concerto.
The Latvian conductor Andris Poga leads the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester in Hugo Alfvén's light-hearted "Midsummer Night" and the monumental "Manfred Symphony" by Peter Tchaikovsky.
