Music Makes Poetry
MusikMachtpoesie is a unique concert format that combines music and literature in an intense and moving way.
Violinist Franziska Pietsch, pianist Maki Hayashida, and actor Walter Prettenhofer transport the audience into the moving worlds of the lives and souls of great composers of the past.
Together, they explore the fascination and magic of music—that sound which has moved hearts and touched souls for centuries. Music that today seems to accompany us as a matter of course, shaping, comforting, and challenging us—often without us consciously questioning its origins.
But how did it come to be? Under what circumstances was it composed, conceived, or endured? What inner and outer worlds are reflected in it? Through carefully selected texts and a thoughtfully crafted dramaturgical interplay of sound and language, historical contexts come to life, biographical ruptures become tangible, and artistic messages are brought to the fore.
musikMachtpoesie goes far beyond simply listening to music. It invites us to discover art as the language of the soul and to understand how music from times of upheaval still deeply touches, moves, and connects us today.
