In the exhibition “Metamorphosis—From Roof Shingles to Art.”
The Red Pavilion has received a new roof in recent months. Several of the old roof’s wooden shingles—some of which were rotting and covered in moss—were salvaged. Artists from the Kunstverein and other visual artists associated with the Red Pavilion have given them a new life—as works of art. The artists’ approaches are as diverse as their works: painting, printmaking, collage, and sculpture. All created with and on wooden shingles.
