Klezmer Music and Yiddish Songs with the Group “Aufwind” from Berlin
The group AUFWIND was founded in 1984 and initially focused on Yiddish songs as well as the Jewish culture and history of Eastern Europe. Through travel and intensive study, the group developed a special connection to the Yiddish musical tradition. Starting in 1988, the lineup expanded, and the group increasingly devoted itself to klezmer music. After meeting Giora Feidman, the group went on to perform internationally, including at the Klezmer Festival in Safed, Israel. In addition, AUFWIND collaborated with actors and theaters and participated in various stage productions. The group performed at numerous festivals worldwide and was also celebrated internationally. Their CDs received critical acclaim and were nominated for music awards on multiple occasions.
