Guided tour of the "Blue Tooth Treasure"/ silver treasure find from Schaprode, a copy of which enriches the permanent exhibition.
On Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 11 a.m., museum director Marika Emonds will guide visitors through the presentation of the high-quality replicas of the so-called "Blue Tooth Treasure". This early medieval silver hoard, discovered in 2018 near Schaprode on the island of Rügen, fascinates with oriental, western European and English coins as well as impressive jewelry elements. The coins of the Danish King Harald Bluetooth (reigned 958-986), which gave the deposit its popular name: "Bluetooth Treasure", are of particular interest. The tour also answers the question of why the precious silver objects were often willfully crushed and chopped up. The replicas on display are a representative selection from the original ensemble.
