Bell-ringing ceremony, live music, and a festive closing concert on the organ
On Sunday, October 4, 2026, the Mecklenburg Organ Museum in the Malchow Monastery Church invites you to this year’s museum festival. Starting at 1:30 p.m., visitors can look forward to a varied program centered on music, history, and the unique atmosphere of the Organ Museum.
The festivities kick off at 1:30 p.m. with the consecration of the newly installed bell in front of the monastery church. The consecration will be performed by Mayor René Putzar and Manfred Göring.
Afterward, the festivities will continue in a relaxed atmosphere in the newly landscaped garden of the recently restored Organ Museum: At 2:00 p.m., guests are invited to enjoy coffee. Musical entertainment will be provided starting at 2:30 p.m. by the “Blue Birds” from Röbel, who will perform in the museum garden.
Guided tours of the museum’s storage areas offer a special behind-the-scenes look at the museum. These tours take place at 2:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. and provide an opportunity to get an up-close look at the museum’s work and the treasures preserved there.
The museum festival will conclude festively at 4:30 p.m. with a concert in the monastery church. The concert marks the end of the special exhibition featuring the Prague organ. Prague organist Pavel Černý will be performing as a special guest.
The museum festival thus combines musical highlights, insights into the museum’s work, and a convivial get-together, inviting visitors to discover the Mecklenburg Organ Museum and the monastery church from different perspectives.
