by Agatha Christie Adapted for the stage by Ken Ludwig German by Michael Raab Premiere November 21, 2025 Duration 2 hours 50 minutes
When the luxurious Orient Express from Istanbul to Calais comes to a standstill in the middle of Yugoslavia due to a snowdrift, there is suddenly a dead body. An American businessman has been murdered with several stab wounds. Of course, nobody really wants to have seen anything. But one thing is certain - the murderer must still be among the illustrious travel guests. A new murder could happen at any time. But by chance, master detective Hercule Poirot is also on board the train, ready to take up the investigation immediately. He shrewdly takes on the case, only to come across one or two surprising twists in his fight for the truth. Agatha Christie's legendary crime classic, which has been filmed many times, is a winner with suspense, humor and great entertainment. Director Sascha Hawemann, whose work has shaped the German theater landscape for years, tackles the material with a great deal of love for the characters and a sure instinct for quick wit.
