The action group Eine Welt e.V. once again invites you to a movie night in their world store. In cooperation with the INKOTA network, this time the documentary film "Toxic Harvest" (2025, South Africa, 63 min, original language) will be shown, which was co-produced by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. The documentary shows how chemicals are poisoning soil, water and food in South Africa - with consequences for us all. The film makes it clear that our consumption in Europe has a direct impact on living and working conditions elsewhere. In addition, agricultural poisons that are banned in the EU (but still produced here) continue to be exported to countries in the Global South, which then end up back on our plates via imported fruit.In order to put an end to this double standard, INKOTA has currently launched a petition to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, for which signatures are now being collected in the Weltladen.
After the film, there will be an opportunity to talk to those present about the devastating consequences of pesticide use and alternatives for agroecological agriculture.
